All Your Septic Needs

Here are permits for your convenience to print out.  You will need an affidavit to the public for your area and a permit application for your area if you are going to have an aerobic system installed.  You can request other permits for other style of systems that we will not have on our site but available upon request. Boundaries can be complicated sometimes from counties to cities.  Call us or email us and we can verify which permit you can use.

PROCEDURES ON HOW TO PERMIT AN AEROBIC SEPTIC SYSTEM

You should print or you have received three documents.  1. Affidavit to the Public 2. Permit application and 3. a two year maintenance agreement.  Other documents also needed; will be a design from a registered sanitarian or an engineer, flood plain map of your property and surrounding area, and a land survey.  Listed below are procedures in filling out each document.

AFFIDAVIT TO THE PUBLIC:

This document needs to have your legal description of your property inserted in blank column where necessary.  (Ex: Lot 5, Block A, Subdivision XXX and address).  Typically you can find this on your home paperwork or your counties tax documents.  This document must be signed in front of a notary and stamped and signed by a notary. Original will need to be filed with your county clerk’s office.  I advise to take a copy that you can get stamped by your clerk’s office or they will charge you to copy it. Typical cost is anywhere between $16 to $25.   The original will remain with clerk’s office and keep copy that is stamped by clerk’s office for permitting process. Above are a list of affidavits for you.  Choose the one that is for your area.

PERMIT APPLICATION:

This document needs to be filled out in full and signed at bottom of document where necessary. Typical cost run between $200 to $500.   Above are a list of permits for your area.  Choose the one for your area.

TWO YEAR MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT:

This document is provided to you by who is maintaining and warrantying the septic system.  In most cases this is your installer. This cost should be included in the cost of installation.

LAND SURVEY:

You can find your survey in your homeowner’s paperwork when you bought your house.  We will need a copy of this document to be sure there are no property easements and to know the exact property line. This is not necessary in all permitting authorities.  We do recommend a survey though.

FLOOD PLAIN MAP:

This document is only necessary if needed.  Dallas County will always request this document.

SITE, SOIL EVALUATION AND DESIGN (KNOWN AS PERK TEST AS WELL)

This will be performed by a registered sanitarian or a licensed professional engineer.  A registered site and soil evaluator can only do a site and soil evaluation but the design must be a registered sanitarian or engineer which can also perform the site and soil evaluation.  Click our hyperlink here for a list of designers. System Designers Costs typically range from $150 to $350.

All this information is gathered in their original form and submitted to your regulating authority for permitting.  Any missing information can result in a delay in installing your new septic system.  This is only a guideline for paperwork necessary.  Always work closely with a licensed installer to ensure paperwork is done correctly.
